One of the main ingredients is Shea Butter
Shea Butter
The shea tree is rooted in the depths of the West African savannah. Towering 60 feet tall, it lives for hundreds of years. It is here, among this ancient wilderness, that local women congregate to gather shea nuts, which are then ground and roasted to ultimately produce precious, soothing shea butter.
Used for centuries to protect, enrich and soften skin, shea butter is known to contain omega-3s. Omega-3s are known to help maintain skin’s natural moisture barrier, and when skin’s barrier is protected, precious moisture is less likely to escape.
So why am I writing an article about hand soap?
First off lets start with my background and what I would be using soap for. Silly question right? Soap is for cleaning…. which is correct. I work in the service department of a Nissan dealership. We get greasy and very dirty on occasion. At work we use a version of Gojo hand cleaner. It is great and does an awesome job of cleaning grease out of the cracks in your hands. I also use it at home. At home I work on vehicles occasionally but my main use for soap in the home for difficult situations is when hot wings are eaten.
I wear contacts so after eating wings for dinner I always dreaded taking them out of my eyes at the end of the night! That burning sensation felt like I was pepper spraying myself on a weekly basis. I tend to have hot wings at least once a week. My wife makes some awesome hot sauce and we have an amazing 6in1 ninja air fryer that cooks them up nice!
To keep my eyes from stinging I have tried many different hand soaps as well as various other soaps to try to combat hot wing eye. I tried about every hand soap I could find in various grocery and drug stores. None of the hand soaps worked.
I tried the Gojo workshop soap and that still didn’t work. I even tried dishwashing liquid and just washing my hands with it still didn’t work.
I even tried the Dawn dishwashing liquid which is the best dishwashing detergent I have used. When just using the Dawn to wash my hands it didn’t take the sting out at the end of the night. When washing dishes till my hands are water logged it does take the sting out. Who wants to wash dishes for that long just to get the sting out?
Enter Satin Hands by Mary Kay. Someone very close to me suggested I try the Satin Hands soap out after having Hot wings one night. I tried it and now I am hooked! The very first time I tried it I didn’t have the burning sensation in my eyes when taking my contacts out. I actually touched my eyes again after they were out and still no sting! I was amazed. I ended up ordering my own. Now I use it in our bathrooms due to not only keeping the sting away but also not drying my hands out like every other soap I have used.
Will the Satin Hands Soap be the best soap for you? Satin Hands definitely is for me. That being said will it replace my Gojo for heavy grease? No. Will it replace all of my other hand soaps in the house? Yes it already has! Now I have gone down the Mary Kay rabbit hole… I have now switched sunburn treatment to their amazing Sun Care After-Sun Replenishing Gel which I only used two treatments after a burn instead of the constant reapplying of aloe suncare treatments.
My wife uses the Mint Bliss on her legs to relieve sciatica and pain. We now have a healthy supply of Mint Bliss.
Once you go down the rabbit hole of Mary Kay you will never go back!
