Which is the best incubator for you?
What is the best beginner/value incubator for you? There are many great options for incubators out there. Today I will be looking at two simlar options. Both have had successful hatches. I am only able to speak to chicken egg hatching however others have used both of them successfully for quail as well.
Manna Pro Harris Farms Nurture Right 360
- 360° VISIBILITY: Clear top on incubator makes it great for educational observation.
- 360° INDUCED AIRFLOW: The Nurture Right 360 provides optimal air circulation & temperature stability.
- AUTOMATIC EGG TURNER: Eases the incubation process and helps stimulate hen hatch for higher hatch rate.
- AUTO-STOP: The Nurture Right 360 will stop turning eggs 3 days before hatch day.
- 22 EGG CAPACITY: This incubator can hold up to 22 chicken eggs, 12-18 duck eggs and 22-24 pheasant eggs. COMPONENTS: Compatible with United States electrical outlets.
- Built in egg candler
Maticoopx 30
If you are looking for an incubator that is easy to use, without always worrying about temperature or humidity fluctuation, the Maticoopx 30 egg incubator is just designed for this!
Advanced Temperature control program:
Unlike many of other incubators, this incubator use an advanced “Temperature Tracking and Prediction” technology, which can continuously tracking and recording the temperature changes 3 times per second, then based on this data to predict the temperature trend and make prompt adjustments to heating system in advance to offset possible temperature fluctuation, this can bring a much more stable temperature for your eggs and thus improves hatch rate; in other words, this incubator provides more precise temperature control over many of other incubators who still use traditional on/off thermostat to roughly control the incubator temperature.
Easy Humidity Monitor and Control:
Unlike many of other incubators that each time filling water will need to open incubator lid and will cause humidity fluctuation; for this incubator you can directly fill water into external water top-up, which is much more convenient and can highly reduce the humidity fluctuation. Also, it can display humidity level, so you can clearly monitor humidity level at any time.
Automatic egg turner with auto-stop:
Every 60 minutes, the automatic egg turner will gently tilting the eggs from one side to the other side. Also, it has a built-in timer to help you keep tracking the days, so you can clearly know how many days left. Furthermore, it will help you automatically stop turning eggs 3 days before hatch day to avoid excess turning to your eggs.
Fun and educational Egg Candler:
With using built-in LED egg Candler, you can easily observe the development of the eggs, to track and monitor if eggs are developing correctly.
Comparison of the two best budget incubator options
Both have similar water channel set-ups for humidity controls. Each has two different channels for the different stages of incubation. Both are accessible from outside of the incubator so you don’t have to take the tops off. The first one on the left is for during the first stage of incubation and the second on the right for the last stage of incubation. Both have almost identical ways for venting excess humidity. Both have lids that are clear for viewing the eggs and chickens hatching.
The Nurture Right 360 has a 22 egg capacity. The Maticoopx 30 has a 30 chicken egg capacity. Which would be best? I would say the Maticoopx. I like the extra capacity and neither has to be filled to capacity for things to go well.
The Nurture Right 360 has an egg turner that sits flush with the floor of the incubator. As the turner moves around a central point the eggs turn with the friction of the base. The Maticoopx 30 has 5 channels that hold six eggs each that the eggs sit in while an arm on the side tilts the holders side to side. Which is the best? I would call it a tie. I haven’t seen a difference in hatch rates with the two different styles.
Both have candlers but which is best? This is an easy one. The Maticoopx has the superior candler. Both are bright and light up the egg without a problem, however the Maticoopx is the best choice. The reason the Maticoopx is the best choice is due to the black base that the led sits in. The light from the Maticoopx led lights up just the egg where the Nurture Right 360 with its light colored top allows alot of bleed through of light making it more difficult to see whats going on.
Removing the lid definitely goes to the Nurture Right 360. It was much easier to remove and line up to reinstall.
When going into lock down I would consider the Maticoopx the best option. With the Nurture Right 360 you have to remove the eggs one by one and then remove the turner before putting eggs back in for lock down. The Maticoopx is more convenient. With the Maticoopx you remove the five holders out which will stand on there own on a flat surface. At that point you just take the eggs out of the holder and put back into incubator. So for me the Maticoopx takes the best slot in this area.
Now onto the price. The best choice in this area is going to be the Maticoopx which at the time of this post is going for 119.99. This could go up quickly considering when I purchased the Nurture Right 360 it was 149.95 and is now as of today selling for 170.96.
So which value based incubator is best for you? I would currently choose the Maticoopx due to candler, capacity and pricing. Either way you will not regret getting either the Nurture Right 360 or the Maticoopx.
